Houston Humane Society: Play Pet Beds Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We received six beds in total and all were used up by our monthly-assistance program clients. Our clients belong to low-income families and they can't afford to purchase good-quality beds for their pets. Hence this grant helped them tremendously as they were able to use a high-quality bed for their pets for free.

Our Pet Pantry Monthly Assistance client Iva Jean is caring for a neighbor’s dog, named Jordan, after her neighbor’s house caught fire. Iva requested a crate to help take care of him. He is a 1-year-old bulldog mix, and he is rapidly getting bigger.
The neighbor’s 7-year-old son passed away in the fire and the neighbor is currently trying to get settled before she can take her dog back home. Iva already has five dogs and eight cats but opened up her home to one more pet in need.
The first picture shows Miss Iva receiving a P.L.A.Y. Chill Pad. She expressed her gratitude with a lot of love and said we are in turn helping her neighbor as well. Her dogs and cats are always happy to receive food and supplies from our Pet Resource Center. The second photo is a picture of Jordan.
