This grant helped pay for Abilene, one of our rescues who needed heatworm treatment. She was found as a stray and we took her in and got her spayed, updated on vaccines and treated for heartworms. The Warriors Heart Service Dog Program took her to be a therapy dog.
From Facebook: “Abilene is as sweet as they come and a big lovebug. We believe she is around 3-4 years old. She was found on the side of the road, believed to be dumped. She just finished heartworm treatment and is ready for her forever family. Abilene is very playful and enjoys running around the yard. She loves ear scratches and being loved on. She would be perfect to take hiking or jogging with you. Abilene is spayed, updated on all her vaccines, and microchipped. She weighs about 46 lbs.”
