Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Peanut was a rescue we pulled from the euth list in late 2019. He was only 10 months old, extremely emaciated, and traumatized by the shelter dragging him into the euthanasia room despite knowing we were picking him up that morning. Due to the trauma, he was extremely reactive to vets, feeling cornered, and approaching strangers. We spent a fortune on training for this boy to gain some confidence.

Since receiving this grant, I personally drove him to Chicago to his new home and he is now living his best life with a Marine veteran.

Additionally, I personally took two other dogs to homes in Oregon and another to Nebraska (three separate trips, including Peanut’s). We also fully vetted another seven adult dogs and nine puppies. The mom and puppies have now all been adopted; the last puppy was adopted yesterday and mom has started her heartworm treatment.
