Marshall Pet Adoption Center: KONG Toys Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
One of our greatest challenges is the extended length of stay many of our adult and larger dogs face. We’ve approached this issue from multiple angles and have seen meaningful progress. The ability to offer KONG toys to our residents has been a significant asset. While we can’t explain the magic behind them, KONG toys are almost universally loved by our dogs and have become a cornerstone of our enrichment program, helping to reduce stress, encourage natural behaviors, and improve overall well-being.
How many pets did this grant help?
We estimate that between 40 and 50 dogs will benefit from this grant this year.
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
KONG Toys are highly effective tools for relieving stress and boredom in the kennel environment. For dogs like Beau (first and second photos), Cowboy (second photo), and Bonnie (third photo) who aren’t yet ready for playgroups, they offer valuable opportunities for individualized play, mental stimulation, and physical exercise during outdoor time. These activities support positive behavior, reduce frustration, and help dogs develop skills that increase their adoptability.
