Second Chance Dog Rescue of Mansfield: Wag Wine Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant helped our rescue tremendously. It allowed us to purchase vaccines to guard against distemper, kennel cough, parainfluenza, distemper, and several other viruses for new dogs coming through intake into the rescue. These vaccines are expensive and we continuously intake new dogs that we hope to adopt out, and with the Petfinder Foundation generously providing some funding via this grant, it allows our rescue to be able to vaccinate all the dogs we need to. By vaccinating the dogs, it makes them more adoptable and we have had some great adoption successes lately.

One of the dogs these vaccines specifically helped was Branch. Little Branch was abandoned and dumped on the side of the road near the rescue in the past few weeks. He was found and we brought him into the rescue. Some of the vaccines purchased were used to keep Branch healthy and he was just adopted! I have included a photo of Branch near when he first arrived and then an adoption photo.
