Rescue Me: Cat Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Cat Enrichment Grant really helped us to buy things that we would normally not be able to get for our fosters, especially all at once. Because of your generosity, we were able to buy warming beds and blankets, cat trees, interactive toys, and scratch posts. Our fosters were very excited, not to mention the cats!!

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Sweetie Pie (photos 1-3) came to us recently. She was found on the streets, pregnant and FIV-positive. Sweetie Pie is now living in the comfort of a safe home and has found lots of enjoyment from the warming blankets and butterfly toy. Sweetie Pie has not found her forever home yet. It may take a bit because of her FIV diagnosis, but our fosters have committed to stick with her until she does. You can meet Sweetie Pie here.

We also have a group of six babies who are now right at one month old. We call them the “Jersey Shore” babies: Snooki, Pauly, Vinny, Sammi, Jenni (fourth photo), and Ronnie (fifth photo). They are too young to be listed on Petfinder.com, but some have already been pre-adopted. Warmth is key with these little ones and they spend a lot of time all snuggled together (sixth photo). They have thoroughly enjoyed the warmth of the heated blanket. They will be listed in two weeks if they are not all adopted before then.
