How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The funds awarded from the 2020 Purina Spring into Adoption Grant by the Petfinder Foundation were used to pay for adoption readiness for several dogs, but two in particular are shown in the photos. We have a sweet, well-mannered girl named Delilah who is currently undergoing heartworm treatment for the next three months. Another little girl, named Diamond, was rescued from a hoarding situation and required quite extensive vet care to make sure she was healthy for her new beginning.

This grant paid for veterinary services for several pets who required additional medical care in order to become healthy enough for adoption.

Delilah (first three photos) is a sweet, well-mannered shepherd mix who found herself at a shelter and was heartworm-positive. We took her in and began her treatment. She is one of five heartworm-positive dogs in our care who are benefiting from this grant.

Diamond (at right in the fourth and fifth photos) was a tiny Chihuahua mix who was part of a hoarding seizure and came to us soon after. She had no idea how to “be a dog” and in our large foster farm, she was not flourishing into her own. We partner with a rescue in New York City that requests small dogs, as they have fosters and adopters waiting. Diamond has one foster brother and is spoiled rotten. She is learning how to be the shiny gem she was meant to be so she can be a perfect addition to a new family.
