$22.50 went towards the heartworm meds for two “pen”-pals, Rainbow and Aspen. We appreciated the donation towards the care of two of our 60 rescues. Thank you. Rainbow is pictured in the first photo. From her Petfinder profile: “I ended in N.A.B.S. after I was picked up by a local [open-admission] Animal Control. I am very friendly and affectionate medium-size pit bull terrier/Australian cattle dog mix. I am full of energy, very trainable and love treats. I love people and most dogs and I seem good with cats. I am housetrained. I am well-mannered in the crate and on a leash. I know some commands. I am located in Houston area. I have been fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention.” Meet Rainbow: https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/22281002

Aspen (second photo) has been adopted. From his Petfinder profile: “Aspen was impounded in a local [open-admission] Animal Control and he was facing euthanasia with his two siblings due to skin issues. N.A.B.S. rescued him together with his sisters. All three siblings were treated for their skin issues. Aspen’s life has not been easy; when he was found, his left ear looked like someone had tried to cut it, so has a shorter ear 🙁 and due to his skin issues, his skin is sensitive now and he has flea allergies. But other than that, if he is current on his flea prevention, he will be perfect! Due to all his skin issues, he has not had much opportunity to go to adoption events, so he is a bit insecure when meeting new people and new dogs, but soon he feels confident. Aspen walks well on the leash and is crate-trained and housetrained. He is approximately 4 years old and 50 lbs. He is friendly with most dogs, but we recommend that if another dog is in the house, it should be a female. He is curious around friendly, not-running cats.”
