Universal City Animal Care and Control: Play Group Training Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Dogs Playing for Life training at Austin Pets Alive! in Austin, TX.

Since the training has been completed, I have worked on getting standards of practice in place and started training staff and volunteers. We are slowly getting more dogs into our yards together to have some time with others and interact. The time interacting with other dogs has been a tremendous positive with our dogs and their socialization levels have increased. Hopefully, as we continue to grow in the program, we can continue to improve and see more growth.

Slinky and Gabby were usually walked alone by our volunteers. Since my training, I have gotten them into the yard together and seen growth in their social interactions. They have not been adopted as of yet.
