The grant money was used towards Pixie's surgery bill to remove two masses and provide dental care.

RSQ Dogs+ is often contacted to assist other agencies with medical cases. Adoptable Pixie had a rough life. She didn’t even have to tell us. She came to us from the Iron County shelter because she needed medical attention. She had scars on her body, her canine teeth were filed down/broken off, and her tongue was split down the middle. These past injuries could have been due to a number of things but are consistent with what we see with dogs who were used as bait dogs.

Regardless of her past and what she might have been through, we believed she deserved the best care and a loving home that would spoil her rotten for the rest of her days. She had two masses removed, dental extractions, and was spayed.

Pixie fully recovered from her surgeries and became a failed foster. Her foster family fell in love with her right away and immediately adopted her.

From her adopter: “Pixie has brought a lot of joy to my life in a short amount of time. She has inspired me to be more resilient. She has gone through countless trials and still proceeds with life as if none of them had ever happened. She is the sweetest dog and I cannot imagine my life without her happy spirit!”
