How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

With the awarded funding, we were able to buy several items for our Doggy Day Out and Pupcation programs. We purchased backpacks, overnight bags, portable water bottles, seatbelt harnesses, martingale collars embroidered with the shelter phone number, and Adopt Me harnesses, leashes, and bandannas.

We are able to have the backpacks pre-packed and ready to go with all essential items for Doggy Day Out trips, including the water bottles and seatbelt harnesses. We send all dogs out in one of our embroidered collars with our phone number in case they happen to get loose. The dogs also go out wearing an Adopt Me leash, harness, or bandanna so that everyone they encounter knows they are available for adoption.

Nala (first photo) attended a fundraising event last weekend wearing an Adopt Me harness and one of the customized collars. She didn’t get adopted at the event itself, but two days later a family brought their dog in to meet with her. All went well with their meeting and Nala was able to go home with her new family!
