Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin: Dog Field Trip/Short-Term Fostering Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This grant allowed us to purchase backpacks that allow our Doggie Day Out volunteers to hold all necessary supplies for the dogs' trip out. It also allowed us to purchase safety-tested doggie seatbelts to ensure our dogs are being transported in a safe manner. The harnesses that were purchased ensure that our dogs are unable to slip out and get loose while also advertising that the pet is available for adoption.
How many pets did this grant help?
150
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
In the above photos, Bilbo is on a Doggie Day Out. The Doggie Day Out is not only a way for the dogs to get a break from the stressful shelter environment, but also a way for us to learn more about their personalities.
Shortly after this outing, Bilbo was adopted!
