How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We were awarded $500. We have some adults who have been in the rescue for months. We utilized the funds to decrease the adoption fees to help these dogs find homes.

We used $100 for Phishie to drop her adoption fee from $175.
For Cole we used $100 to drop his adoption fee from $200.
Levi is a small shih tzu and we used $100 to decrease his fee from $200.
With Buck, we used $175 for his fee to be waived.
We are dropping the fees for Wanda and Prada by $75 each.

We at Legacy of Hope Dog Rescue were awarded a $500 grant from the 2023 Petfinder Foundation Kia Adoption Grant. Thank you! The amount was used to subsidize the adoption fees of our most difficult-to-adopt pets in the rescue.

Aspen (first and second photos) was returned due to her family not having time for her. She spent over a year in the rescue. In that time, she became attached to her foster daddy. She adores him and is happiest when he is around.

She came to so many adoption events and we know it was hard on her to see other dogs adopted and her foster brother adopted. This past week, her foster dad chose to make it official and adopt her. We utilized part of the grant to subsidize her adoption fee!

Cole was one of seven parvo pups we rescued in July. He was one of the three who survived. He was a fighter. He found his home with his foster momma and he has a new best friend. We utilized part of the grant to subsidize his adoption fee!
