How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

It has been a blessing for Paws4Christ Animal Rescue to receive support from the Petfinder Foundation and we appreciate your generosity in selecting us for the 2023 P.L.A.Y Pet Beds Grant!

The pets that come into our rescue usually have never had a bed of their own. With the help of the Petfinder Foundation, we are able to give the gift of a bed to every fur baby to ensure that they have the love, comfort, and security they need.

P.L.A.Y pet beds have also served our rescue pets well during recovery; several have come in from abuse, neglect, abandonment, and hoarding cases who required emergency medical care or surgery. These 10 beds were an amazing contribution and provided these precious lives all they deserve while resting and healing.

Chance is one of the rescues who could not have been comfortable during his healing without a P.L.A.Y Pet Bed.

He was abandoned on a property, tied to a chain 24/7, with no food, water, or shelter. This home was part of a hoarding case with 20+ doggies we took in at that time. The owners would not let him go until he was severely injured, requiring emergency surgery.

We believe he was attacked by multiple dogs, leaving him ripped open across his chest and with wounds covering him from head to paws. He had multiple surgeries and, during his recover, had tubes running throughout his body.

This boy has suffered beyond belief, yet he is the most amazing furkid there is. Throughout Chance’s recovery process, P.L.A.Y Pet Beds helped him to be comfortable while he rested and healed. Chance suffers from anxiety due to his past trauma, so comfort is most important.

He has been with us since 2023 and has not yet been adopted, but we know there is a special family out there for him. Meet Chance here.
