Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

One cat family that was helped by this grant was the “punk rock” family. Young mama Suzi Quatro (first photo) came into our shelter in early September along with her three kittens: Lou Reed, Chrissie Hynde, and Joan Jett.

They had been found in a rural area far from any homes, most likely dumped there, and were cared for by the finder until intake. They went to live with one of our fosters while they grew up and completed their medical care.

One kitten was quite sick and was losing weight, but after being put on probiotics, antibiotics, and kitten formula, she turned around and is now healthy and happy.

The three girls were spayed and the boy neutered, and then they went to two adoption events. Mama Suzi was adopted at one of these events on Saturday, October 11, and the kittens went up to the shelter.
