Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley: Cat Enrichment Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Oh we are so thrilled about this grant! When the community learned of it, we received even more money to put toward the project! This grant has improved the quality of life for 10 shelter cats and will continue to improve more lives as these 10 get adopted. We were able to create a whole room dedicated to cats who have to be kenneled. They were moved out of their small kennels and into large catios, each with a cat tree and other necessities and access to a hideaway for privacy and a window to look out.
How many pets did this grant help?
30-50
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Batman has lived at the shelter for over a year. He is a 13-year-old cat with health problems.
Because of his special diet, he cannot be in a free-roam room with the other cats, so he has had to live in a kennel for his time here.
He now has more room to jump and play, a window to look out, and the ability to come out of the catio for more exercise and cuddles with our volunteers.
Batman is currently available for medical foster only and not listed on Petfinder.
