How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Petfinder Foundation’s No-Fee/Low-Fee All Love Adoption Grant made a significant impact on A Dog’s Dream’s ability to place retired breeding dogs into loving forever homes while reducing financial barriers for adopters.

Many of the dogs entering our program require extensive medical care, rehabilitation, socialization, and emotional support before becoming adoption-ready. By helping offset adoption fees, this grant allowed more families to move forward with adoption while enabling our organization to continue prioritizing the individual care and recovery needs of each dog.

The grant also increased adoption interest and community engagement, helping dogs transition more quickly into permanent homes where they could begin experiencing comfort, stability, and family life.

This support was especially meaningful during a time of rising veterinary and operational costs, allowing us to continue focusing resources on medical care, enrichment, transportation, and rehabilitation services for dogs in our care.

We had a sweet couple visit our adoption center and fell in love with Finley and Titus, two Boston terriers. They really wanted to adopt them both and keep them together because the two dogs had grown fond of one another and bonded well. However, the adopters’ finances couldn’t accommodate the adoption fees for both.

Through the support of the No-Fee/Low-Fee All Love Adoption Grant, Finley and Titus’ adoption fees were reduced, allowing an experienced and compassionate family to move forward with welcoming them into their home.

Since their adoption, Finley and Titus have flourished, learning how to trust, play, and experience affection and security for the first time in their lives. Their adopters continue to share updates about their progress, and seeing their transformation has been a powerful reminder of how impactful accessible adoption programs can be for both pets and families.
