How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This amazing toy grant helped so many of our big dogs in our shelter, as they sent so many big-dog-size toys, but they also sent some for smaller dogs. The big dogs, we can't keep toys for them, so these have been a godsend because they last so long. Our big dogs, especially, have enjoyed being able to work on getting the treats out of the them. This helps keep them occupied and relieves kennel stress, that bane of all shelters. Keeping the dogs mentally healthy helps us get them adopted. And that is the biggest help of all: helping these amazing dogs get amazing homes.

One dog in particular, Briella, our French bulldog with all the allergies, was helped profoundly by them. Briella has been with us a good while, as we have had much work to do on her skin, getting her over her allergies and allowing her skin to heal.
Because of her stress levels, she likes to chew on tough toys to relieve some of her anxiety. Well, the KONG toys, tough as they are, have been a godsend for her. She doesn’t like us to take them, even for cleaning.
I am sharing some pictures of her holding on to one of them and just about to bark at me for trying to take one. These toys help relieve Briella’s stress and we are so grateful for that.
