How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We are thrilled to share the impact that this grant has had on our rescue dogs. With the $1,000 provided, we were able to purchase a variety of indestructible toys specifically designed for large-breed dogs. These toys have not only brought joy and excitement to the dogs but have also played a crucial role in enriching their lives while they wait for their forever homes.
For many of our dogs, these toys were their first experience with play. We had several dogs who didn’t even know what a toy was, and it was heartwarming to watch them discover the simple pleasure of play. The toys helped the dogs to release energy, reduce stress, and engage in healthy physical activity, which is vital for their mental and emotional well-being.
Without this grant, we would not have been able to provide these enriching experiences for our pups. The ability to spoil our dogs with toys allowed us to show them love and care, making their stay with us more comfortable and enjoyable. We are confident that the enrichment provided by these toys has positively impacted their journey toward finding their forever homes.

Raven’s (first photo) life before coming to our rescue was one of hardship. She was overbred, neglected, and ultimately abandoned, coming to us from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. Raven had never known the simple joy of play; toys were a foreign concept to her. When she arrived at our rescue, she was shy and unsure, but her resilience shone through as she cared for her litter of puppies.
Thanks to the generous grant we received, we were able to purchase indestructible toys that transformed Raven’s experience with us. As her puppies grew and became strong enough to explore the puppy yard, Raven began to discover the joy of playing with toys. It was a beautiful sight to see: this once-forgotten dog learning to chase and chew, her tail wagging with newfound happiness. Her puppies, too, delighted in playing with the toys, interacting with the other puppies and experiencing the carefree joy that every young dog deserves.
While all of Raven’s puppies have found their forever homes, Raven is still waiting for hers. However, the toys provided by this grant have helped keep her spirits high. She continues to play, enjoying the comfort and fun that these toys bring. We hope that the love and care she has received, along with the joy of play, will help her find a family who will cherish her as much as we do.
