How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The $1,000 grant was equal to $1,400 Canadian, so our promo was called Adopt 14 by the 14th. We offered $100 off of the regular adoption fee on tuxedo cats, as we had a large number at the beginning of the year. We linked this with Valentine's Day and we were able to feature many of our beautiful tuxedo cats with great stories. We actually adopted our 14 tuxedos before the Feb. 14 promo expiry, which was so satisfying. When we offer promotions like this one, our adoptions increase for all cats, not just the ones in the promo. Our comparison for Jan. 2024 vs Jan. 2025 was 26 adoptions versus 38.

Nova was born at the home of one of our fosters on March 26, 2024. She was the sweetest little female tuxedo, but she was shy. She was in our care for 305 days before she was adopted as part of this promotion. She was adopted with another shy tuxedo name Satsuma, who had been at the shelter for 243 days. Their names are now Joey and Sebastian.

This grant allowed us to come up with new ideas for promoting our adoptable cats and kittens. We were so happy that it was successful and we look forward to more collaborations.
