50

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Sasha (first and second photos) is a mom of seven puppies who had built a den in a flipped-over car in a remote area of Manitoba. She has required many enrichment toys to keep her mind active and to get her used to indoor living in Ontario, along with helping her adjust to a crate like many of our Northerners.

Six of Sasha’s puppies have since been adopted. Sasha is currently up for adoption. You can meet her here.

Blackie (photos 3-5) is a young puppy who urgently flew south after suffering from an unknown leg injury for days until he could get into care. He required a leg amputation and needed a variety of enrichment toys to provide entertainment and distraction while he healed from his surgery.

Blackie will be up for adoption once he is healed up from his surgery in a couple of months time.
