Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

When Timmy and Tom Nook first arrived at our shelter, their world had been turned upside down. Rescued from a hoarding situation with over 60 other guinea pigs brought into WAGS Pet Adoption on Sept. 26, 2024, they were among dozens of very similar-looking pets.

Exotic pets like guinea pigs often wait much longer for loving homes, and Timmy and Tom Nook were no exception. Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months — 294 days, to be exact. By the time the right adopter came along (first photo), we still had 19 guinea pigs in our care. Timmy and Tom Nook’s adoption was a joyful moment not just for them, but for all of us.

Thanks to your generous grant, we were able to provide Timmy and Tom Nook with everything they needed: nutritious food, cozy bedding, enriching activities, and, most importantly, patient and loving care. WAGS did make them a little plump. The Petfinder Foundation grant meant that even as they waited, they thrived, growing more confident and healthier each day.
