Fancy Cats and Dogs Rescue Team: Cat Enrichment Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This grant has provided the quarantine for Fancy Cats and Dogs Rescue Team with toys, stretch-and-scratch scratchers for our cats' cages, and wonderful soft beds to provide a warm place for our cats to rest while they wait for their forever homes.
The toy mice and balls and wands assist with stimulating the cats' brains to keep them from becoming bored and agitated. Cats who are calmer have an easier time being adopted. The scratchers give them a constructive place to use their instinctual drive to scratch and sharpen their claws. This teaches the cats to use an appropriate place to scratch and it also helps them to release some energy from time spent in a cage. Thank you, Petfinder Foundation, for helping the cats of Fancy Cats and Dogs Rescue!

Dollface and Shadow have been waiting for their forever home for a long time. They are a lovely pair, but Shadow is timid with strangers and it has been more difficult to find the right adopter.
Recently they have been in a large cage in our quarantine and need the extra stimulation to keep them from becoming anxious while waiting for their forever home. The new beds that were purchased using the grant have been very helpful, as they are small enough to fit in a snug box, which Shadow particularly enjoys. The scratchers give them another avenue to release their extra energy, as do the wand toys.
Dollface and Shadow deserve a loving home, but while they wait, the Petfinder Foundation has helped them by providing the funds for cat enrichment so they will be ready for their adopters.
