How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This grant helped us add fun and enriching items to our cat habitats, which are generally open rooms housing multiple cats. We often take in cats who are having a hard time getting adopted at municipal shelters, or who otherwise may have a longer length of stay. Providing our kitties open spaces with enriching items ensures their behavior and emotional states will not deteriorate during a longer length of stay.

One of the kitties who has been loving all the new enrichment goodies is Lola, an 8-month-old calico kitty who is super sweet. Lola is all about playtime, and her favorite treat is Churu. She gets along well with other kitties and is looking for her forever home. She’s great with humans of all ages. After a rough start being born on the streets, Lola and her siblings were swooped up by the feeder of the colony they were born into, fostered, vetted, and snuggled. Now, Lola is ready for her forever home.
