Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Foster pup Rascal, a 9-month-old Jack Russell terrier mix, experienced a foreign object ingestion in January. His emergency vet bill was more than $10,000

Emergency surgery was deemed necessary, as efforts to rehydrate using IV fluids were not helping. Additional x-rays and ultrasounds confirmed the object was not progressing through his digestive system. Surgery revealed a piece of hard plastic and a string in the stomach and upper intestine. The plastic had perforated his intestine and a resection was required. If we had not proceeded with the surgery, Rascal would have died.

Rascal, now Jack, has been adopted.
