The KONG Toy Grant has made a significant impact on the well-being and enrichment of the bull terriers at California Paws Rescue. These durable, interactive toys have provided essential mental stimulation and physical activity for our rescue dogs, helping to reduce stress and promote healthier behavior during their time in our care. Many of the bull terriers we rescue come from difficult backgrounds and face challenges with anxiety or boredom while awaiting adoption. KONG toys have proven to be an invaluable tool in redirecting their energy, improving focus during training sessions, and fostering positive socialization.
By integrating these toys into our daily enrichment routines, we’ve seen notable improvements in the dogs' overall demeanor and readiness for adoption. The grant has also allowed us to enhance our Ready to Go Home training program by using KONG toys as rewards for completed tasks, further reinforcing good behavior. These toys not only benefit the dogs but also provide adopters with a practical way to maintain the skills and habits built in the rescue. Thanks to the KONG Toy Grant, our bull terriers are happier, healthier, and better prepared for their forever homes.

Meet Yuri, a charming bull terrier with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Yuri came to California Paws Rescue through no fault of his own, and while we have loved every moment with him, he is still waiting for the perfect family to call his own. Yuri is full of energy and curiosity. But like many bull terriers, long days in a rescue can sometimes leave him feeling restless. That is where KONG toys have become a game-changer for Yuri.
Each morning, Yuri eagerly waits for his favorite KONG to be stuffed with peanut butter or a special treat. Whether he is gnawing, tossing, or trying to figure out how to get to the last morsel inside, these toys provide hours of entertainment and mental stimulation for him. They also help him channel his energy in healthy ways, giving him a sense of purpose as he plays. Over time, the KONG toys have not only kept Yuri busy but also helped him stay calm and focused during training sessions, making him an even better companion in the eyes of potential adopters.
Though Yuri has been with us longer than expected, we know his perfect family is out there. Until they find him, Yuri’s KONG toys ensure his days are filled with fun, enrichment, and a little extra love.
