How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The P.L.A.Y pet beds helped reduce stress, support healing, and create a more home‑like environment for the kitties in our care. The beds made the cats and kittens more social and ready to meet potential adopters. By helping them feel comfortable and secure, the beds played a direct role in preparing them for success in their forever homes. For kittens, the beds offered a soft surface that supported healthy development and provided a warm spot for resting between play sessions. Having soft, supportive beds provided them with a dedicated space where they could feel safe, warm, and comfortable. Thank you on behalf of all of our kitties in our care!

One of the kittens who especially benefited from the P.L.A.Y. bed was a tiny tabby named Sage. When she first arrived in her foster home, Sage was extremely shy and spent most of her time hiding under furniture. She startled easily and would only come out when the room was completely quiet, mainly at night.

Her foster caregiver placed one of the new P.L.A.Y. beds in a quiet corner of the room, partially tucked under a chair, to help Sage feel protected. Within a day, Sage cautiously approached it, and soon she began using it as her “safe spot.” The bed’s softness and high sides gave her a sense of security. Having a dedicated place of her own helped reduce her stress. Sage has not been adopted yet, but when she is, she will take her favorite P.L.A.Y bed with her.
