Solano County Animal Care: Dog Field Trip/Short-Term Fostering Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This grant allowed us to purchase needed items such as collars and harnesses, leashes, Adopt Me vests, Adopt Me bandanas, collapsible bowls, dog-waste bags, shelter-info tags, tote bags, toys, treats, dog seat belts, and towels to provide the fosters with when they take a dog out for the day or for an overnight stay. This has allowed many dogs to spend a day and/or a night out of the shelter for much-needed exercise and one-on-one time with people. It has helped us to learn more about the pet and promote them for adoption.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Bear (first photo) is one of our longest residents who has benefitted from the purchase of the supplies for this program. He was taken in by a foster for a day out, which turned into a sleepover, and as of now he is STILL in foster because she is dedicated to helping him find a home. Although she is not in the position to add another K9 resident to her home permanently, she is devoted to finding him the perfect home.
