Purrfect Cat Rescue: Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
In organizations that adopt out pets, there are animals that are preferred by the public and other animals that spend more time before being chosen. We typically have a more difficult time adopting cats that are older, physically compromised, or of certain colors. This grant helped us by making Mocha, an aged cat who had diabetes, more appealing to potential adopters. When Mocha left, we were thrilled that she could now live her best life with adopters that love her.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
This grant helped Mocha. This gorgeous Persian came to our rescue as an aged 9-year-old with diabetes and matts galore. We worked with her, shaved her, and put sweet Mocha on a diet. She was on Petfinder but in the incorrect section, which Petfinder lead us to update.
Finally in the correct Petfinder category and growing a lovely coat, Mocha was adopted by a loving couple who were also seniors. We’re grateful to the Petfinder Foundation for giving us the opportunity to adopt out sweet, beautiful Mocha to her forever home through their Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant.
