Animal Rescue of the Rockies: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We were able to reduce the price of an adult cat adoption by $50 during kitten season. This enabled 30 adult cats to find wonderful new homes. People took a second look at adult cats because their adoption fees were so reasonable in comparison to adopting a kitten.

How many pets did this grant help?

30

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Buck had been living outdoors in a mobile home park. He was not altered and was fighting with other cats in the community. He was trapped by a caring individual who realized that Buck was tame.

Buck was surrendered to ARR. After medical treatment for fighting wounds, neuter surgery, vaccines, an FIV/FeLuk test, and a microchip, Buck was ready for adoption.

Within a few days, a kind young couple agreed that Buck was exactly the cat they wanted. They had looked at several kittens but decided that an adult cat would be best for them. Buck has settled in and is the center of attention in his new home.
