How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We received $1,000 to help us adopt out 10 senior cats over three months. With Petfinder Foundation-Kia funding, we are able to give a $100 price reduction (from $150 to $50/pet). We have already been able to adopt out 10 senior cats with this wonderful funding! We were able to pull an additional five seniors from underserved shelters because we knew we could find adopters, given the reduced funding, even during kitten season.

Meatloaf had been an outdoor cat for nine years until he was finally brought inside by a caring individual. He’d lived the hard life of an intact tom and had dull fur, bites and abscesses, and bad teeth. We knew he was a prime candidate for the Kia Pet Adoption program.

After bringing him to health and neutering him, we advertised him as a sweet senior and he was quickly adopted. Everybody loves a ginger!

Meatloaf’s ship had finally sailed and he’s enjoying the good life: sleeping on a soft bed, regular feedings, and no fighting for survival.
