How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We are incredibly grateful for the generous support of the Petfinder Foundation Dog Enrichment Grant, which has enabled us to purchase specialized training and enrichment platforms that are already making an incredible impact in the daily lives of our shelter dogs.
These elevated platforms serve multiple purposes during group play and structured training sessions. They provide dogs with a designated safe space to retreat to when they need a break, allowing them to decompress, observe, or simply rest. This setup promotes healthy socialization while allowing dogs to regulate their energy and emotions in a positive way.
Thanks to the Petfinder Foundation, we are able to offer a more enriching and emotionally supportive environment for every dog in our care, especially those who benefit from extra time, patience, and understanding. This grant is truly helping us elevate the quality of life for our shelter dogs, and we couldn’t be more thankful.

One of the dogs who has especially benefited from the Petfinder Foundation Dog Enrichment Grant is Micah, a longtime resident who is still on his journey toward finding a forever home. Our trainers and staff have been using the new enrichment platforms to help build Micah’s confidence and provide him with consistent emotional support.
While these elevated platforms serve many purposes for the dogs in our care, for Micah, they offer something more: a sense of security. When he feels overwhelmed or uncertain, he can retreat to a familiar, safe spot where he feels protected. This simple but powerful tool has become a crucial part of his confidence-building process and a meaningful step toward helping him thrive and eventually find a loving home.
For shy dogs like Micah, these enrichment structures have made all the difference, and we are so grateful to the Petfinder Foundation for making this possible.
