Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue, Inc.: Cat Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Cat Enrichment Grant helped our rescue by allowing us to purchase numerous items that assisted in the development, emotional as well as physical, of numerous felines to help in finding their forever homes.

How many pets did this grant help?

The grant helped approximately 25-30 felines (possibly more).

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Rajah (first photo) is a 10-month-old kitten who was surrendered to the rescue from a hoarding situation. Rajah was very timid and didn’t seem to have trust in humans. The grant allowed us to purchase treats as well as wands to get closer to Rajah. With patience and on Rajah’s terms, we have been able to get closer to him, which is getting him closer to finding his forever home.

Willie (second photo) is a 4-year-old cat who was surrendered to the rescue with multiple problems: diabetes and obesity (28 lbs). The grant allowed us to purchase an electronic motion toy that Willie became very interested in. With this interest, Willie became more active; he has currently lost 10 pounds and is losing more. He is no longer diabetic.
