Paw Warriors, Inc.: Cat Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant allowed us to purchase enrichment toys that helped many cats and kittens. We have had many intakes of kittens found everywhere during 2024 already. The kittens have healed and grown and these toys have been invaluable in socializing these tiny feral kittens in so many ways.

Many cats that come through our rescue have never seen a toy before and most are scared of people and tend not to trust them. The toys have been a way of reaching out to these feral/stray cats and the adults get to become kittens again and feel love and care for the first time in their lives.

Also, potential adopters get to play with the cats and get a real feel for which cats/kittens would be a good fit with their families. Several cats have been adopted because of these enrichment toys helping them become friendly and loving.

We are so thankful for these awesome toys! With inflation, funds have been tight this year and, truly, without this grant we would not have been able to have these toys. The toys will continue to make a difference to many other cats/kittens in the coming days and years.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

We’ve taken in several feral and stray mother cats with their tiny kittens found in dire situations in 2024. These tiny kittens have been able to be socialized and prepared for loving homes much more easily.

A few of these kittens just recently went to loving homes: Cadbury and Tamale (first photo) were adopted together, as were Ziva and Pandora (second photo).

We are absolutely thrilled when our babies get adopted; it’s so worth the time and work we put into them. And truly, enrichment toys make such a difference with socializing and fun times with the kitties and serve a great purpose — they truly are invaluable!
