How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Kia Pet Adoption Grant allowed us to reduce the cat and dog adoption fees of some of our long-term residents. We were able to offer adoption fees of $100 for cats and $350 for dogs for four of our long-term cats and two of our long-term dogs. This substantial reduction made it possible for us to find forever homes for three of these pets.

How many pets did this grant help?

This grant was awarded and used during 2024 and we were able to assist six pets.

One of the pets we successfully helped was Marshmallow.

Marshmallow came into our care back in June as a young mom nursing two kittens. When Marshmallow went in for her spay surgery, she tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.

This virus made it incredibly difficult to find her a forever home. After months of trying, thanks to the Kia Pet Adoption Grant, we were able to lower her adoption fee. A few days after lowering her fee, we found the perfect family for her (first photo).

Marshmallow is now thriving in her loving, forever home. Without the Kia Pet Adoption Grant, this adoption wouldn’t have been possible.
