Happy Whiskers Animal Coalition: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The funds from this grant help offset the price of adoption fees to remain competitive for pets with expensive medical needs. Most of our pets receive medical care exceeding their total adoption fee.

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Buster (first photo) is a tomcat rescued from the streets of Fort Lauderdale with a serious case of mange. He was seen by the fantastic vets at Chewy Coral Springs. They put him on medication every two weeks to help clear his skin up and get him ready for his new home! Buster’s medication isn’t cheap, costing $30 and requiring several months of treatment due to the severity of his illness. Buster is still waiting for his home.

Meet Buster here.

Enzo (second photo) is a pet whom we have had for a year now. He has been looked over due to his unique eyes caused by an eye infection he had when he was a kitten. Enzo was also treated at Chewy as well as an eye specialist and made a fantastic recovery. Enzo is also still waiting for his home.

Even with discounted adoption fees of only $50, both Enzo and Buster are still waiting for their homes.

Meet Enzo here.
