How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

By giving us the ability to provide adoption discounts through our March Madness adoption event, the grant enabled us to adopt out 42 cats and kittens during the week of March 18-24, 2024. We had a child's basketball hoop and, if the adopter made the basket, they received a larger discount. The kids loved it!

Our average adoption rate is 16 cats pet week. The grant made a huge difference in the lives of so many more cats who found safe forever homes!

Caffe Macchiatto came to us with a broken back leg that required amputation. Her bio reads, “If you’re looking for a feline companion who embodies strength, resilience, and unconditional love, look no further than Caffe Macchiato. Despite missing a leg, she navigates the world with remarkable ease. She’s ready to embark on a new chapter of her life, and with your love and support, the possibilities are endless.”

An adopter drove in from South Carolina to meet her after seeing her on Petfinder: A beautiful 4-month-old Siamese tripod who is a perfect lap cat for the adopter’s daughter, who is in a wheelchair. A perfect match!

They had a lot of great questions, which we answered. The adoption team assured them that cats are still active, can play, and can navigate the world on three paws. While we will miss her, we know that Caffe Macchiatto will have a wonderful new life in South Carolina!
