Partners for Pets received an Emergency Medical Grant to support Darla, a pet brought into our care in November.
Darla was found tied to a pole, standing in several inches of freezing water on a bitterly cold day. It was clear from the moment she arrived that Darla had endured unimaginable trauma. She was suffering from a broken femur, multiple lacerations, and was severely emaciated.
While some of these ailments were able to be treated in-house at Partners for Pets, Darla’s broken femur required specialized orthopedic surgery. Thanks to the Petfinder Foundation, Partners for Pets was able to provide Darla her crucial surgery without impacting our budget in a way that could have prevented the rescue and rehabilitation of the thousands of other pets who will enter our care throughout this year. Thank you!
Darla was adopted by her foster mother once she had completed her recovery.
