Partners for Pets Humane Society: Disaster Response and Recovery Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Partners for Pets Humane Society is extremely thankful to have received support from the Petfinder Foundation! The 2024 storm season has been exceptionally hard on our community, which has impacted multiple areas of operation at Partners for Pets.

When a recent tornado struck our outdoor play yards, the canines in our care were limited in the amount of time they were able to play and socialize. The Disaster Response and Recovery Grant allowed our organization to repair the damage without delay or financial hardship, providing us the opportunity to continue saving lives and helping community pet owners through unforeseen circumstances.

How many pets did this grant help?

Adoptable Dijon’s (first photo) favorite pastime during her stay at Partners for Pets is, paws down, romping around the play yard. When a recent tornado struck the facility at 9136 Lower Marine Rd., our team had to break the news that her daily game of “chase me!” would no longer be possible.

As a dog in a shelter, time outside and in socialization groups is so important for Dijon and her friends at Partners for Pets. Thanks to the Petfinder Foundation, Partners for Pets was able to secure funding and complete repairs in no time to get Dijon and her friends right back to doing their favorite thing!

You can meet Dijon here.
