Always and Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

After we announced this adoption event (since we do not participate in same-day adoptions), grant funding was used to cover the costs involved with Always and Furever's dedicated adoption staff member's time needed to review, interview, schedule meet-and-greets and match pets with prospective adopters through our Petfinder application link and our internal screening process, which includes home visits and veterinary reference checks. Always and Furever takes great care to match pets with potential adopters through a rigorous screening process; this funding helped support and offset costs involved in providing free adoptions and placement for our animals.

A happy ending for Ukee! This little girl had been found as a stray, scared and alone, and ended up on the euthanasia list at a city shelter. Always and Furever knew that, at less than a year old, Ukee deserved a new life full of love, hope, and family — as all dogs do!

A wonderful foster family stepped up for Ukee and taught her what love and kindness is all about, and ended up making her a permanent part of their family. She even has a fur brother that she is never far from.

The KIA Pet Adoption Grant allowed us to save dogs like Ukee. We are so excited for Ukee’s new life and second chance!
