Regina's Rescue: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Kia Pet Adoption grant helped Regina's Rescue match our dogs with adopters in our rural community. These grant funds were vital to making the adoption process more accessible to all adopters by removing the financial obstacle typically involved with bringing a new pet into a home.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Star and Sally Sue (first and second photos) came to Regina’s Rescue along with two other siblings with their responsible pet owner in April 2023 when he was over the limit at his house with puppies.

With the KIA grant funding available, an interested adopter put in an application. She didn’t even want a meet-and-greet. It was love at first sight, and the girls were adopted immediately.

They went from living in a kennel to living inside the house with a secure fenced yard, lounging on the couch, and cohabitating with a cat. What a success!

Regina’s Rescue is thrilled about how they have completed the new family and filled their hearts with love. Having their adoption fees paid for by the Petfinder Foundation Kia grant made this happy ending possible.

Sam (third photo) came to Regina’s Rescue courtesy of a dump and run on March 16, 2023. It was a cold, drizzling day even for a Doberman-shepherd mix. He was skittish and afraid.

Sam was posted for adoption. Finally, coming up on the one-year anniversary of his arrival date, a furever adopter put in an application. A meet-and-greet appointment and a ride to his furever home happened in a New York minute. Mission complete: He landed a new home with a very loving family.

Best of all, his adoption fee was paid in full by the Petfinder Foundation Kia grant. Good things come to those who wait.
