How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Kong toys received helped our fosters in our adoption-partner stores have enrichment and activity, and those in our foster homes a bit of fun with a new toy. It’s no fun being in a cat condo awaiting your human and, while seemingly a small thing, a new toy brings fun and joy. A cute toy and a being cute helps a kitty find their forever.

Helen is a 3-month-old calico who is at one of our adoption-partner stores.

We had our regular Saturday adoption event and somehow she was not adopted. The following day, one of our board members visited to adopt her sister and gave her one of the Kong toys so she could play. She loved it! That tweety bird had her doing bunny kicks, flopping that toy around, and biting and meowing at the toy.

A picture and a video turned into a TikTok video, and the next morning we had an email asking to apply to adopt her. She goes home tomorrow night. The birdie toy will help another foster get adopted.
