How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant allowed us to build a catio play area for our cats. We built it off the already existing cat play room. This allowed the cats to go out and get fresh air, climb and play like cats love to do. It also helped some of our scared, non-social cats to become more socialized.

Dylan (first photo) had been with us since May of this year. We noticed she was becoming withdrawn and depressed.

She was one of the first cats who got to utilize the playroom and it really helped her turn around. She enjoyed sitting out there on one of the perches and bird-watching daily.

Becoming more social also allowed her to be accessible in her kennel and to want to be approached, which then led to her getting adopted.
