Frankie's Furry Friends: Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The generous funding from the Petfinder Foundation enabled Frankie's Furry Friends to allow Eli to be adopted as part of the Senior to Senior program, where older dogs are placed with older humans who can care for them. This funding allowed Frankie's to cover Eli's adoption fee and medical needs. The Senior to Senior program includes vet care for the duration of the dog's life.

We want to thank you for the grant we received to assist with the adoption of a senior pet. We are happy to report that Eli (a.k.a. Old Man) has been adopted! He was actually adopted by the person who was fostering him. She says that Eli should actually be referred to as “grumpy old man” vs. simply “old man.” After meeting several potential adopters, Eli decided none were for him. He had developed a bond with his foster and a very happy “foster fail” was in the stars!
The funding from the Petfinder Foundation allowed Frankie’s Furry Friends to waive Eli’s adoption fee ($150) and the balance has been set aside for vet care/monthly medication needs at Frankie’s vet, Dr. Heinke.
As part of the Senior to Senior adoption program, Eli was placed with an older adult who fit the criteria for this program. The funding from the Petfinder Foundation was extremely helpful, as Frankie’s will continue to support Eli’s care for the rest of his life.
We are grateful! Thank you.
