Pet-A-Bulls Inc.: KONG Toys Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We received the Kong donation in December and have been using the toys since then. We also take them to our monthly adoption events so that all the pups who attend can enjoy stuffed Kong toys to keep them occupied while they are waiting to find their forever homes!
Enrichment toys such as stuffable Kongs add variety to our rescue dogs' activities, especially our dogs who have been in rescue a long time. Since we are pulling high-risk dogs from overcrowded shelters, many of our dogs are larger breeds or seniors who can take many months (sometimes up to a year) to be adopted out. These interactive toys are very much enjoyed by our rescue dogs! They are expensive for us to buy, so this donation was greatly appreciated.

Tessa (first photo) is a young bully-breed dog who was pulled into rescue by Pet-A-Bulls, Inc., on Dec. 27, 2023. She had been found as a stray in New Mexico and taken to a very overcrowded shelter where her likelihood of adoption was very low.
Tessa loves Kong toys (second photo) and, because she is a young dog, she needs enrichment toys like these to keep her occupied and happy while waiting for her forever family to find her. Tessa is still waiting to adopted, but we are confident that we will find the perfect family for her soon!
