Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue: Emergency Medical Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This grant was instrumental in providing financial support for Freckles Foundation to get Henry the surgery he desperately needed. Costs included diagnostics, surgery, hospitalization, and postoperative care — expenses that were beyond our organization's current emergency medical budget. This grant reimbursed expenses for Henry's care and allows Freckles Foundation to continue to provide lifesaving support.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Henry and his siblings, young beagle/cattle dog mixes, came into our care in September 2025 from a shelter in West Virginia. Henry’s siblings were quickly adopted, but Henry had to wait because he was diagnosed with bilateral patellar subluxation, meaning both of his kneecaps slip out of place.
This painful and debilitating orthopedic condition severely limited his mobility. His corrective surgery in January 2026 was successful, and Henry made a full recovery.
Through it all, he remained the sweetest boy — resilient, loving, and so deserving of a family to call his own.
We are pleased that Henry’s day has come and he is finally home, adopted to a loving family in May 2026. His “happily ever after” looks absolutely perfect.
