Farmhouse Animal and Nature Sanctuary, Inc.: Play Pet Beds Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The P.L.A.Y. pet beds that we received through this in-kind grant donation are being used to give our adoptable animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, and dogs, a soft and cozy place to rest. It's important to make the animals feel as comfortable and safe as possible while they await their forever homes. The beds are an important part of making the animals comfortable.
How many pets did this grant help?
The numbers will vary but at the moment we currently have 16 adoptable pets available.
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
About four months ago, Blu (photos 1 and 2) was found wandering in traffic in a busy town not far from our sanctuary. She was not microchipped and was a bit underweight and very scared. Her owners were never located and the family that found her knew she would need a fenced yard and place to decompress until her new forever home could be found, so she came to FANS, where she is now waiting for her new family.
Blu has come a long way over the last couple of months; she has really come out of her shell and we have learned that she loves dog sports, but she still can be a little skittish and nervous at times. The P.L.A.Y. pet bed helps to make her feel comfortable both in and outside of her crate. She loves to drag it around with her.
Blu is currently available for adoption and would love to find a family that would allow her to thrive in one or more dog sports. Blue can be found on Petfinder here.
