Meet Bruno, our brave, goofy, big-hearted boy who’s finally ready for his forever home!
Bruno has come such a long way. In April, we were asked to take in an extremely emaciated dog who ended up as a stray at someone’s house. When he first came into rescue, he had pressure wounds, was heartworm-positive, and was completely broken in spirit. But with love, care, and patience, this amazing boy has blossomed into the silly, snuggly sweetheart he was always meant to be.
Bruno is a 3– to 4-year-old pit bull mix weighing about 75 lbs. He’s fully vetted, heartworm-free, potty-trained, and crate-trained — though he’d much rather be your couch buddy! He loves playing with his toys (especially when he gets to toss them around on his own), and he’s very food-motivated, which makes him a quick learner.
Bruno enjoys the company of other dogs but can get a little over-excited and humpy at times. He rides nicely in the car and doesn’t require a fenced yard — what he really needs is a loving, understanding home. He warms up slowly to new people, especially with treats involved, but once he trusts you, he’s incredibly loyal and affectionate.
Because of his past, Bruno can still be a bit cautious around strangers, so he’d do best with a family experienced with shy or fearful dogs — someone who will let him move at his own pace and love him for exactly who he is.
After everything he’s survived, Bruno deserves a family that will continue to show him that people can be kind, gentle, and safe. He’s ready to fill your home with love, laughter, and the biggest, goofiest smiles.
