Pepper's Hope Dog Rescue: Emergency Medical Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The grant helped cover some of the cost of the emergency surgery that Nolan needed after breaking his leg playing with his foster brother. Without this grant, covering this cost would have been difficult for us as a newer rescue. Having this financial backing helped relieve the pressure and allowed me to feel confident in continuing to take in more dogs who needed help as this cost was now partially covered.

Nolan came to my rescue from a local animal control. He was just a happy-go-lucky 6-month-old puppy who loved to play.
He unfortunately broke his leg playing with his foster brother and required surgery. He was a trooper with his crate rest while he healed but did ended up needing one more surgery to remove the pin that had been put in to stabilize his leg after breaking it.
After that recovery, he was healed and ready to finally go to a forever home at the end of March. He received an approved application and we set up a meet-and-greet. Unfortunately, the night before the applicant canceled. We decided that there must be a better fit out there for Nolan and he just had a meet-and-greet with a couple last night. We have our fingers crossed for a forever home! He has such a goofy personality and deserves the best home.
