How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant provided us with pet supplies such as coats, collars, harnesses, leashes, and toys. We are always excited to spoil our shelter pets and be able to send pets home with quality supplies that have enriched their lives.

The sweaters have been great for our volunteers to put on our dogs before they take them on walks through our trails. In Michigan, the weather is already below freezing, so many of our dogs need that extra layer of warmth to give them the courage to enjoy a walk. We also really appreciate the waist-band leashes that allow our walkers to go hands-free on the trails.

We want to say a big thank you to Petfinder Foundation and GF PET for supporting us with some innovative and fun products that have enriched the lives of our adoptable pets like Birdie Sue (first photo)!

Birdie’s favorite product is the hip treat-and-train pouch that allows her walkers to keep treats right on their hip to reward her for being THE BEST girl on her daily walk.

Our volunteer favorite has definitely been the waist-belt leashes: They are a GAME CHANGER if you walk your pet often!
